1 cup | uncooked rice | | onion | | green pepper, sliced | | garlic | 1 - 1 1/2 lb. | hamburger | 1 small can | tomato paste | 1 can | tomato sauce | | salt | | Pepper | | chili powder | | paprika | | bay leaf | | garlic |
| Cook rice per package instructions. Saute green pepper, onion and garlic in small amount of shortening. Add hamburger and cook until it loses color, not brown. Add the tomato paste and tomato sauce. Season to taste with salt, pepper, chili powder, paprike, bay leaf, garlic. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes to blend flavors. Mix in cooked rice and let simmer slowly for about 15 minutes. Serve with cornbread. |
