Pork Chops a la Carole

6 or morepork chops
1 bagsauerkraut (Frank's)
1 jarMott's applesauce
sprinklingPepper
Brown chops and put a little pepper on both sides when browning. Drain sauerkraut and add to pan. Put in a good amount of Mott's applesauce (I ended up using the entire jar) and stir into kraut. Surround the chops with the mixture, then add a bit of water (to cover, according to Carole - I think a little less would be ideal). Turn heat to simmer and cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours. After 2 hours, taste kraut and add more applesauce if you want it sweeter. Add water if needed during cooking. Meat should be very tender. The amount of kraut to applesauce is an individual matter of taste.
