2 lbs. | ground beef | 2 T. | fat | 1 1/2 cups | diced onion | 2 | garlic clove, minced | 1 cup | green pepper, diced | 3 cups | canned tomatoes | chili powder | to taste | 4 T. | cold water | 2 tsp. | salt | 2 tsp. | sugar | 2 tsp. | worcestershire sauce | 3 1/2 cups | red kidney beans (or 2 cans, drained) |
| Brown ground beef in fat. Add onion, garlic and green pepper and cook until onions are transparent. Add canned tomatoes (or equivalent in fresh tomatoes), chili powder, water, salt, sugar and worcestershire sauce. Cover and simmer 1 hour. Add kidney beans and simmer uncovered for another hour. Serves 6 or 7.
Can mix spices together in the water and add all at once, if desired. |
