1 pound | hamburger | | salt and pepper to taste | 2 Tablespoons | raw rice | small | Onion, diced | 1 Tablespoon | ketchup | 1 Tablespoon | water | 1 | egg |
| Mix all ingredients to use as filling for cabbage rolls. Prepare cabbage by coring and placing in a pot of boiling water; cover and let leaves soften. Cut tough spine from leaves; use as many as needed, then chop the remaining cabbage and put over rolls after you've placed them in the sauce.
SAUCE:
Brown an onion, add 1 can stewed tomatoes, 3 Tablespoons lemon juice and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Heat, then add cabbage rolls. Cover and bake at least 1 hour at 325 - 350 degrees.
The meat mixture was Sarah's stuffed green pepper recipe. |
