1 medium head | napa cabbage | 1 bunch | green onions, chopped | 3 to 5 T. | margarine | 2 - 3 oz. | Oriental noodles (Ramen) | 2 1/2 ounces | sliced almonds | 4 T. | sesame seeds | 1/4 cup | white wine vinegar | 3/4 cup | vegetable oil | 2 T. | soy sauce | 1/2 cup | sugar |
| Melt margarine and brown the noodles. Be sure to break noodles in small pieces and do not use packaged noodle seasoning. (It's easiest to break noodles while package is sealed - just bang and pinch!) When noodles are golden brown, add almonds and sesame seed; finish browning, watching carefully. Remove from heat and set aside.
Combine vinegar, oil, soy sauce and sugar in saucepan and bring to boil - boil for 1 minute. Let cool.
Thinly slice cabbage. Add onions. Add cooled noodle mixture and dressing. Make sure dressing is mixed well - I often put it in a Good Seasons carafe so I can shake it. Toss everything together 15 or 30 minutes before serving. |
